RESOLUTION NO. 2019-01 AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF CITY PROPERTY THROUGH INTERNET BIDDING WHEREAS, pursuant to Division (D) of Section 721.15 of the Ohio Revised Code, the Director of Public Service and Safety may authorize purchase of personal property by intermet bidding; and, WHEREAS, the City Administration has indicated a desire to continue to sell unneeded City property through this method, and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF ST. MARYS, OHIO: SECTION I·That pursuant to Section 721.1 S (D) ofthe Ohio Revised Code, the Director of Public Service and Safety, or his designee, is authorized to sell personal property belonging to the City that is no longer needed for City purposes, by internet auction. SECTION 2. That the City is authorized to enter into a contractual relationship with GOV DEALS, INC, which shall be deemed the contractual representative of the City to conduct such intemet, auctions. The Director of Public Service and Safety is authorized to enter into a contract with GOV DEALS, INC, establishing the general terms and conditions of the sale. Pursuant to Section 721.15 (D) of the Ohio Revised Code, the contact information for GOV DEALS, INC. is 5907 Carmichael Place, Montgomery, AL 36117. Telephone 866-377-1494. The internet address is www.govdeals.com. SECTION 3. That this Resolution shall be effective for the calendar year 2019 SECTION 4. This Resolution shall be published in its entirety in a newspaper of general circulation as provided in Section 7.16 of the Revised Code. Said notice shall indicate the intent of the City of St. Marys to sell unneeded, obsolete, or unfit municipal property by internet auction. Said Resolution shall be published on two (2) occasions. The first two (2) occasions with the second notice shall be published not less than ten (10), no more than twenty (20) days after the previous notice. A copy of the Resolution shall be posted throughout the calendar year in the manner of which public notices are posted for the City of St. Marys. This notice shall be posted until the expiration of the authority granted by this Resolution. This notice shall also be posted on the City website. SECTION 5. That this is an emergency Resolution, as the City has immediate need to sell items and it expects said sale on the internet to bring results which will be beneficial to the finances of the City of St. Marys, all which is necessary for the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of St. Marys; therefore, this resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
